Shield TV Harmony Button Megathread

Since this information is spread all over, I figured a centralized location would be helpful for anyone struggling with their config or new users. I'll post my current configuration and keep this updated with the best choices from any comments.

Harmony Shield Profiles:

Button IR BT Notes
Directional Working Working
Home Working Working
Back Working Working
OK Working Partial BT Configuration does not work in Amazon, PS Vue.
Volume ? ? I don't control volume on my Shield, these need verified.
Numerics Not Working Not Available

Other Useful Buttons:

Button Harmony Profile Notes
Guide Windows PC Will bring up the Live Channels guide.
Numerics Windows PC or Mac Channel input while in Live Channels.
Full Screen Windows PC Works as an OK button in places that the Shield BT profiles does not. Does not work in some areas of Live Channels. People seem to like to set this to a long press and use both.
Enter Mac Works as an OK button in all apps (except Tablo), this would be a good candidate to replace your Shield BT OK button with. Does not work with onscreen keyboard.
Left Click Mac Works as an OK button in all apps (except Tablo), this would be a good candidate to replace your Shield BT OK button with. Does not work with onscreen keyboard.
OK Mac Works as an OK button in all apps (except Tablo), this would be a good candidate to replace your Shield BT OK button with. Does not work with onscreen keyboard.
Windows Key Windows PC Brings up voice search, will require a USB microphone.

Problem Apps:

App Note
Amazon BT OK button does not work. Fixed with most recent release and an updated Harmony profile.
PS Vue BT OK button does not work.
Spotify BT OK button does not work.
Tablo BT OK button does not work. Mac Button's don't help.

The BT issues seem to be Android related and not Shield related, so this information should be useful to other Android TV owners as well.

If CEC works on your setup the OK or SELECT button from your TV remote works (at least for me) across both the OS and so far all apps I've tested.

My TV is an Panasonic

Oh also worth adding the WINDOWS button triggers the voice search (at least on the 2015 model)

Anyone found a way to get favourite channels to work with Live Channels?

Someone explain to my why I see people talking about stop commands, my configuration just uses back and I haven't seen any apps that don't function well enough with that.

I have a Harmony with the keyboard, and OK works fine in Vue for me by pressing the Enter key. It is set up with the shield profile.

For me the OK and Left click button on MAC do not work during search (cannot enter text) !

I didn't found the Enter button in the list.

Moreover, the OK button in the Harmony shield profile does not work in Spotify.

Since I got my shield I have been looking into getting one of these. I really wish there was a model with a qwerty keyboard integrated into it.

Maybe not the direct intention of this post, but I'd really like to be able to use the red/yellow/green/blue or number pad buttons for home control within an activity.

I've been using the Harmony+Shield with IR even though it's laggy because all the commands work. Adding the Shield as "Nexus Player" in Harmony uses BT, but a lot of apps wouldn't work right no matter how much fiddling I did. I'm curious what owners of the new Shield without IR are doing.

HBO Go shares the same "OK" button issues as Amazon Video. I use the "fullscreen" trick to workaround.

Can someone please explain how I can assign the Guide button to open the Live Channels Guide. I have assigned the numeric numbers, but there is no "guide" function under the Nvidia device commands.

Can I use the numberpad to enter numbers on the nvidia sheild tv?

I use harmony Bluetooth with my shield and encounter no zero issues in the apps you listed. Only app I don't use is Tablo. Spotify, Amazon and Vue all work perfectly fine.
