HDHomeRun with live Channels and DVR/Pause/FF/RR capability?

I have been unable to find an answer to this question. I just got a Shield TV and have had an HDHomeRun Connect for a while. After installing the HDHR app, live TV is AWESOME in the live channels app. However, it does not appear to support DVR functions. The live channels app supports USB tuners, but can't seem to use the HDHomeRun network tuner as a source.

I've read some say you can use the DVR functions in live channels if you have the HDHomeRun DVR service ($60/year) and are running a backend server, but this seems completely unnecessary as live channels can do it all with a USB tuner.

Am I missing something here? Is there any way to get this working? Also, it seems this functionality could be added to live channels with a 3rd party app, but I can't find one.

Incorrect. You can use the Live Channels app to view HDHomeRun channels, but it does not have any DVR functions for HDHomeRun.

Also, you don't need the DVR service for that, just the HDHR app.

The DVR service will bring DVR features to the HDHR app only.

EDIT: You get timeshifting in Live Channels now apparently. Good news for all!

Plex beta has DVR built in, for free, using the HDHomeRun. I currently use this, and has been a great experience.

InstaTV also works as a Live Channel plugin for HDHomeRun.

I had to sideload the older HDHomerun app to get the HDHomerun to even be seen by LiveChannels... So are you all saying this works with the current HDHomerun app?
