Shield tv multiple problems

The new shield remote is giving me problems. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it has a huge delay when clicking or scrolling, 1-2 second delay, doesn't do this all the time, sometimes it works perfect. Is this a firmware problem?

Also sometimes when I back out of a show or pause, anything like that a terrible noise comes out of my speakers and sometimes will not go away until I turn off tv, I use sonos and its hooked to my tv with optical, but I have the old shield and this has never happened with it, just the new one. Anything I can try to fix this?

Immediately send feedback to Nvidia from the os settings after this happens.

I'm having both those exact problems... I figured I was just crazy since no one has mentioned them.

I spoke with support the other day about this. They said they are aware of the issue and a fix will be coming soon.

having same issue finally nvidia decided to send a replacement so see if that improves things.

nothing worked, would freeze, suddenly start working again, lag like crazy

The only issue I get is the a the remote volume some times lags. Not freezing or sound issue here. 2017 16Gb model.

I have 2 2017 Shields - one in the bedroom and one on my main TV. The main TV remote has been having issues with intermittently waking up slowly, voice search not working great and generally mushy buttons. My bedroom gen2 remote is perfect, clicks are solid, pairing is great and instant.

My main TV remote died yesterday and would not pair with either box, and I could unpair/pair the bedroom remote with either TV no problem. Contacted nvidia, did some troubleshooting steps and they're going through with an RMA for the remote for me. Hopefully that fixes things.
