Did you try both AMZNIVID and PRMVIDLNCH?
One of them installs an amazon video app that is completely usable on the Mi Box. It is however, limited to 480p. That's probably not going to change unless Amazon greenlights the Mi Box to allow it to decrypt their higher quality videos.
My memory of the process is that I entered my account information on one of the apps to activate the Mi Box, but the other app is the app that you actually want to use to watch videos.
