Looking for some help on this as I have been unsuccessfully trying to get an APK extracted from my Fire TV to work on my Nvidia Shield.
Basically, Dramafever have dropped support for their ATV app, which is very frustrating as their Android phone app just isn't cutting it when it comes to casting. It doesn't save progress or mark shows as watched among other stuff.
I extracted the DF APK from my fire tv and when I try to install it, it tells me I need the Amazon App Store . I sideloaded the latest Appstore APK from the Amazon site and I get an 'Error updating this app' message. The APK is fully up-to-date and working on my fire tv.
Does anyone know how to remove the Amazon checks from the app so it will work on Android TV? Over on xda-devs, there was a guy who successfully removed Amazon checks from a DIRECTV apk so I know it's possible.
Any help would be appreciated!
Install the andriod app from your phone onto the shield it should work fine. You might not see it in the apps row but you can find it in the settings > apps.
