This is something I posted in another thread that works for me when I get the Netflix error.
I can get mine to fix itself by changing the screen resolution and switching it back to what I was using. Like switch to 1080p50 and wait for the confirmation dialog to come up and then switch back to 1080p60 and make sure to get the confirmation dialog again. This usually fixes it for me until the next time I reboot.
Only fix that works for me is side loading the mobile version of the app. Navigation sort of works but cant hit the search bar without a mouse.
There are many variables in the equation that impact success or failure in streaming Netflix on an AndroidTV box.
The one fixed variable in the equation is the actual AndroidTV box so, logically, the answer lies elsewhere.
Most cases of failure can be directly traced to faulty or out of spec output devices relating to HDMI/HDCP aberrations. Even something simple like changing HDMI cables can be useful.
NB:The HDR implementation on MiBox is lacking, as declared in the initial spec sheet and will not be fully resolved until Nougat is deployed.
This assumes you have fiddled with and adjusted the appropriate system settings as noted in other useful posts found in /r/Androidtv.
This box is a sweet deal when it works and utter crap when it does not. Xiaomi has a worse track record of supporting any of their products. You could keep returning it until you find one that works. Or you could send a clear message to Xiaomi and simply return it once and buy something else with support. The fact that Xiaomi hasn't figured this out yet is pure garbage.
There are already many different threads over this same exact topic.
If you have the ability I'd recommend exchanging out for a new one as the software updates that have been released don't address this issue.
Why would I buy a new box or swapp I shouldn't have to do this Netflix should just updated there app
