Cheapest USB hub with Ethernet for Xiaomi mi box

Hi.

I'm thinking about buying the new Xiaomi Mi Box (Mainly for kodi and AceStream) and i want to add it usb splitter with ethernet.

I know that the Ugreen product is approved to be working but it costs almost 20$ !

But how can i know for sure if it will work?

Can someone please recommend adapter like this that he knows for sure that will work for reasonable price?

USB 2.0 ethernet can stream 4k just fine with plenty of room to spare.

That being said, the Mi Box has a bug that turns off the USB port sometimes when you power it off. I find I have to reboot my Mi Box once every couple of days to get ethernet back online. I've tried two different dongles also. I haven't tried an external powered one yet so maybe that's the fix I do not know.

I've found an asix gigabit (88179) one, USB only no hub, under $12 shipped but seller no longer has them. Does around 25MB/s. If you add a USB hub, $20 is around the price point. The 100mbit asix units (made for Wii model 88772/88772A) seem limited to USB 1 speeds so 2-6MB/s, which is worse than the wifi AC could do. I've only tested those exact models.

I didn't look at the product you linked to, but if you do the splitter than maybe having it externally powered might be best.

I don't know the amount of power the Mi Box provides, so it maybe the case that it won't provide enough power for the splitter and Ethernet port. Keep that in mind.
