[Question][help] How to cast Windows 10 laptop to android tv 6.0 pus6501 philips

by sweetohmygod

Hey,

So ive been trying to cast windows 10 laptop to android tv, specifically on a philips 49pus6561 that runs android 6.0.

The last time i check it was called widi on pc but it is now discontinued and it worked casting on a samsung tv but i cant make it work on the android. Now w10 has casting option built in.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance. If this is in the wrong area pls tell me.

There is no widi or Miracast on Android TV boxes, I am not sure about your tv. You can cast you desktop (screen), browser tab or videos via the chrome browser. https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3228332?hl=en

You could also try using the native windows 10 to dlna renderer apps like airplay/dlna by waxrain, airreciever or enable in chrome. But using Kodi/SPMC is likely your best option.

FezVrasta

just use chromecast

Well why would i want to buy a dongle if i have available hardware integrated? It has somethibg to do with .iracast protocol im presuming? When i press co nect button it only shows prrvious saved bluetooth devices. Not my tv, which is added in the manage my devices list

Sorry for the late late late reply, while trying different option that i found on the internet ( i found one quite nice, which is basically streaming to your tv through an app called moonlight, that you can find in the app store, and then basically cast from geforce experience on your tv) but the best and stable and just great option is a program called AirParrot 2.

The link is http://www.airsquirrels.com/airparrot/

I grabbed it with a humble bundle (around 5 bucks) and it is really good. They offer a trial, so you guys can test it. I just installed the program, it detected the tv and just started casting away. Real easy, no hustle. Input lag is really now, but still, you can't play games or such.

And i just remembered another option. The Philips Wifi connect program. it's a nice little program, that does basically the same thing as AirParrot, but at a somewhat lower quality. It's free...sort of ^_^.
