NVIDIA Shield TV (first gen) network issues after upgrade

by HaDAk

I need some help, here. I have been using my first gen Shield TV for a couple of years now, and everything has been great. I did the 5.0.3 upgrade to Nougat the other day, and I was no longer able to pull a DHCP lease. I RMA'd the unit, hoping that it was an issue that could be resolved thusly...but the new one is having the same issue. Anyone else experiencing this? Setting a static address seems to work, at least some of the time.

After the Nougat update, I started having issues with the box not getting a DHCP lease after resuming from sleep. I tried setting a static DHCP lease on my router, which of course didn't solve the problem. The only thing that worked for me was to set a static IP on the Shield itself. I still have the IP reserved on my router (DD-WRT on an R7000). Works fine now. When you say static works some of the time - what does that mean?

Nvidia has recognized this issue and is working on it.

Do you have IPv6 enabled?
