So, I had the stupid idea of buying a XIAOMI MI BOX on ALIEXPRESS (since i live in brazil and there's no other way of buying it here) but by mistake I bought the CHINESE version. Is there anyway I can root it and install android TV with NETFLIX ad stuff? Or any other solution to this HUGE problem I have?
Nope. You'll need to check the details. Normally they will be named with "international/global version" or "Android 6.0". You can also double check the photo. The Chinese one will have MicroSD and the remote the international version will have mic button instead of hamburger button. Please check the review, some seller use photo of both versions and that might make you confused.

Shoulda made sure it was the correct one before purchasing. Xiaomi has released several models of Mi Boxes for mainland China over the past few years now. None of those were running the Android TV operating system. This new one made strictly for the USA is the only one running Android TV.
The official AndroidTV version carries the model number MDZ-16-AB . There are 6 different look-alike models that have been produced by Xiaomi.
Only 1 is official AndroidTV. Others are for Chinese domestic consumption.
About the only salvation is find a youtube video instructing how to invoke English language menus.
Forget about coaxing Netflix to stream beyond 480p resolution, period!

Try this tablet version of Netflix. It worked as 1080p on the Razer forge TV which is an official Android TV without netflix. https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/test-patched-netflix-apk-tablet-with-probably-1080p-output.16224/ will need airmouse. Thankfully someone figured out how to get proper Android TV netflix on the forge
Also try the apkmirror version hopefully your build.prop will still look similar to the us mibox. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/netflix-for-android-tv/
The main issue is your box is likely lacking a widevine L1 certificate. You may not get above 480p.
