I haven't been able to find a way to do this either but there are a few options. I've been primarily using the HDHomeRun DVR with my HDHomeRun PRIME and that has a decent search. I've also been very pleased with the ability to record series, particularly when it comes to sports. That's something Windows Media Center wasn't even able to do. However, the HDHomeRun DVR comes at a cost whereas Live Channels is free. The only workaround I can think of until they add a search feature would be to record a series and leave it at that.

I agree this is an issue. But if you know when the show is on just record the series. The way I look at it is this is completely free so I'll use it as best I can. I do wish I could set recordings on my phone as it would be a bit easier.

Also NBC for me has no guide info. Comes in OTA HD but the guide has no info so I can't record anything...
