I own almost all android tv set-tops. Mi box, Nexus player, Sony TV android tv, and the nvidia shield. I'm pleased with all.

Thanks for letting us know.

It's crazy how one OS feels very different on the devices, too.

The Mi Box still feels like a beta device, but the price is great. It works well most of the time, but has little hiccups. Every update, it improves. At the price point, it's a clear winner over the Roku but not quite ready to take on AppleTV or its big brother, the Shield.

The Shield is far and away the best device I've ever used. It's fast, it's slim, and it works. The wife has no issues with it. It games pretty well, and GameStream works great too. I prefer my Shields to our Xbox One S or PS4, no hesitation.

You're a regular Oliver Twist, aren't you? 😋

I own the mi box, I don't have much problems with (guess my expectations aren't too high), but whenever I do experience any issues, it's usually due to the tiny internal memory running low. Adoptable storage is a farce (wrecks the user experience), YouTube on Android TV is a joke, I don't bother with Netflix, so I guess it's just a Kodi box when all is said and done (and it runs Kodi really well)

I own almost all the boxes too, but there's only ever been 5 of them so I don't see what the big deal is. And the Razer Forge is a shitshow, so really it's down to 4 that are worth purchasing.

I've always used fire tv devices, but just purchased an Airtv, and so far I really like it. I hate that the ces software still isn't out yet but other than that, the Android tv platform seems more stable for me than my fire tv.

My fire tv box was constantly losing sync with the remote and 90% of the time wouldn't auto connect to my Bluetooth headphones. While I know the air tv is a "sling optimized" device, it truley has been a world of difference in streaming quality over the fire.

I'm thinking about getting another android box for our bedroom, and I'm looking at either the mi box or shield. As far as speed and reliability go, how do you think they stack up to each other?

Why own anything but the Shield TV box? It's the superior Android TV device, period.
