The Mi Box cannot play DTS natively, correct?

by myalias1

If correct, then what are people doing to deal with this, or is everyone just avoiding DTS audio files?

I should elaborate: I've got a file that's DTS audio and the video appears to play fine but zero audio. Mi Box is simply hooked up to the TV by HDMI.

I just tested more DTS files and this appears to be the an issue for each one: video displays appropriately, but there's no audio coming through.

Two users have noted the Mi Box is supposed to play DTS...do I have a buggy box? Is there some known issue for a small percentage of users?

And in case it needs to be said, this is regarding attempts to play through Plex.

False. It does support DTS.

I have successfully played DTS content on spmc using optical out

groac

yo it supports it, it use the amlogic 905X-H SoC which include DTS/Dolby licenses unlike non -H variants.

Instead of Plex use VLC. It does play DTS audio.

Plex has issues with DD and DTS audio if you use the SPDIF output on your Mi Box. They are currently trying to fix the bug but right now you won't get digital audio unless you use HDMI audio to your source.

I'm using the Plex addon with SPMC and get DTS. I have found no other way to get DTS on the MiBox.

On the latest Kodi krypton it now supports everything. I got a latest git build and the mi box played everything I threw at it.

pass-through for DTS-HD, DTS-X, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby ATMOS

Check here for proof http://kodi.wiki/view/Kodi_v17_(Krypton)_changelog look for Android specific.

Grab a nightly from here http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/android/arm/Krypton/ and side load it.

I was ecstatic. 😁 Love it

My Yamaha receiver receives all those formats via passthrough correctly and TrueHD etc shows up.

This is via HDMI. Just ensure you have passthrough enabled and toggle on all the formats your recover supports.

bsphere

used Kodi 17 from the Play store, DD, DTS, DTS-HD MA all worked (through HDMI, set to pathhrough audio and that the receiver supports DTS, DTS-HD MA and DOLBY TRUEHD)

Yes Kodi 17 from the Playstore for comprehensive Audio support on the Mi Box and then if you need Plex use:
