Gen 2 shield remote DOA?

Just got a shield after it was so highly recommended. My tv remote seems DOA out of the box? It won't do anything. Won't pair manually. I tried popping the batteries out and back in but nothing. Is it DOA out of the box? Have others had this issue? Any solutions?

How about returning it to the store where you got it?

Yep just batteries and need to update software to resolve lags

It's a very common problem... Don't return, either get replacements batteries (cheap) or ask nvidia to provide them
