Amazon Video not working on Shield TV

by Tapsaffnoo1

As title, can log in and see my watchlist etc but when I click on a video it says it's unable to play, please see www.amazon.co.uk/videohelp (have tried all suggestions) and sometimes it says I don't have enough bandwidth but 4K Netflix works fine on Shield and 4K Amazon Video app works fine on LG TV.

The app used to work fine when first was available as part of the nougat update but wasn't working just before the 5.1 update and still not afterwards. I've tried deregistering my shield TV, rebooting and registering again but no joy.

Anyone else seen this problem before and maybe know how to fix?

Yeah this is a constant issue with me as well. It seems every time I want to watch a show it is mysteriously unable to connect. Yet if I accidentally flip over to it it'll load a video just fine.

It seems like it is happening to me during peak hours (7-10ish on weekdays). I loathe Amazon for their treatment of Android and I can't help but assume they just aren't trying to fully optimize it for the shield considering it'll work on the web or my Roku at the exact same time.

Silly question but it's what fixed mine. Are you running a VPN? I sideloaded PIA because I automate torrents for Plex on my Shield. If I disable it Amazon Video suddenly works! Gamestream only works if it's disabled too. Hope this helps.

Yep and it sucks! Using the send feedback feature is probably our best chance at having it fixed.

Report it in the Nvidia forums and send feedback from your shield

I've got the the problem the first time today. Is there any solution?

Has anyone with this issue been able to resolve it? Its still not working for me 3 months later. I've tried swapping out the HDMI cable and changing some of the display settings but no difference.

I reported the problem on the Shield but not sure if that even gets looked at
