Does the version of Youtube that the Shield runs lack commenting, "watch later", and "add to playlist" functions?

Youtube for the Mi Box seems so needlessly stripped of features. Android TV supports bluetooth and other wireless keyboards and mice and there's plenty of screen real estate and to include the things I mentioned.

The other thing that bothers me is that my subscription list is incomplete. I subscribe to 100+ channcels and at max I am able to scroll through a number significantly smaller than that. Finally, I can't seem to figure out a way to disable autoplay functionality which is always in effect at the end of any video I play.

*I'm only asking this at all because I'm unclear if all Android TV devices run precisely the same build of Youtube with identical UI presentation.

YouTube comments are most definitely not a "feature" and I am happy to not have them on Android TV.

Yes it lacks those features. They find that most people want to just watch the videos on the TV and if you want to read comments you can just do it on your phone. Watch later and Add to playlist should exist on TV but It's not a deal breaker for me. then again I personally do not use those features. I can see why someone would want them.

As for your subscription list being incomplete I have no idea. I subscribe to close to 100 channels but I only regularly view around 10-20 of them so I do not pay attention very often to the bottom of my sub list.

Last time I checked, your Watch Later videos are listed under your account/profile next to the videos you uploaded. Add to Playlist is missing and something I wish the Android TV version of Youtube had.

The youtube app for my shield is the same as the mibox

I think this is the case for majority of (all?) YouTube apps for TV. The YouTube apps on my LG webOS TV and my mothers Roku look identical and have very few features compared to the site and Android apps.
