There is no proof that this is Android TV, but there is tons of proof that it's for Google Fiber customers.
Someone just saw that it can have Netflix and YouTube on it and assumed it was AndroidTV.
Poster used an AMP link such that the post shows up with "(google.com)" when it is in fact some obscure website.
This is more an issue for political rather then tech news, but it is important never-the-less. People need to pay more attention to the source of the news they click on, and we can't let people obscure that vital bit of info.
They seem to love abandoning TV hardware. Chromecast is the only exception.
I don't know about the source, which is from the UK, but Google maybe planning a new Nexus/Pixel TV device for late summer or fall release.
So mad I didn't preorder one of these. I want one just for collection sake.
