Nvidia Shield opens Steam keyboard when clicking in left stick during Gamestream?

by vizNNN

I tried Gamestream for the first time on my Shield yesterday, and when I click in the left stick on my Shield controller, it opens up a Steam keyboard if I'm playing a game that isn't a Steam game (ex. Battlefield 1). I also own a Steam Link, so I recognize this keyboard as the keyboard the Steam Link uses when you type on it. The problem with this opening up is that games such as Battlefield 1 utilize the left stick click in order to sprint, and every time it opens, my game goes into windowed mode and prevents me from being able to move in the game.

I have tried games such as Rocket League, CS:GO, and GTA:V where none of which opened the keyboard when clicking in the left stick like it did in games like Battlefield 1 and Overwatch. I'm starting to believe that it has something to do with games that are not Steam that are causing this to happen.

Anyone else experience this issue?

did you add battlefield 1 to your steam library and are launching it through steam via game stream? that would be the only way I could see that happening. If you just launch battlefield 1 straight from in Game stream this wouldn't happen as it wouldn't be touching or loading steam hence no steam keyboard.

I also started having this issue and it's due to the controller profile that steam uses when it thinks you're NOT in a game. To fix this, open steam in big picture mode and then modify the control mapping
