So I was just wondering why I get different quality options, for the same video, on the Android TV YouTube app versus on my tablet or computer?
It doesn't always happen. Some videos are are fine as soon as they are released. All quality options are available. But others take way longer
For some it takes much much longer for the high quality options (above 480p) to be available on the TV app then anywhere else. In some cases a day or two. I can understand that there can be a time delay for the conversion initially but once it has them done they should be available regardless right? Am I missing some settings or something?
Youtube takes a while to encode videos for all platforms. Many times it depends on how fast the Youtube channel publishes their video after upload. I have noticed that the Android TV version of Youtube seems to be the last to get all of the available quality selections. Even the Leanback version gets them faster.
