Hey all, This is my current network setup, running through AC router. I currently use my PC as an HTCP, where I store all my media. If I'm streaming 4K content from my pc to my fire TV, will this connection be good enough? Anyone have similar connections?
Thank you!
I'd say probably not. I actually have gigabit between my fire TV and my server, and neither Plex nor Kodi can play back all of the 4k episodes I've downloaded. Some work, but others stutter, and I'm not too sure what the difference is. I don't understand why 4k Netflix works and local files don't, but I assume it's more a matter of codecs than bandwidth.
For what it's worth, the few files that do work on the fire TV seem to work on my mi box as well, and it's using wifi.
