What determines how long logins last for apps?

by JoshFink

Sorry for the vague question. I'm in the process of setting up an AndroidTV box, specifically a Shield. My question is around the apps, such as the Disney or Nickelodeon app and logging into them with my Comcast or UVerse credentials.

How long should the credentials last? i.e. at one point is it going to ask me to sign in again or activate the app? Is it going to be a week, two weeks, a month or indefinite? I'm trying to figure out how much of a hassle is it going to be to put 4 of these into the house on the various TV's.

Does that make sense or am I rambling?

Thanks

How crappy the app developer is.

I don't know about those particular apps, but a lot of apps don't ask you to login again once you're in. If they do, it will be particular to the specific app.

For me, it seems like Fox apps (Fox Sports Go, Fox Now, FX Now) require me to log in pretty often - maybe once a week. The Disney Apps except ESPN last a little longer but require occasional signing in as well. Showtime Anytime seems like I have to sign in all the time. The Viacom apps dont stay signed in that long for me either. Pretty much everything else I use (HBOgo, STARZ, Netflix, Hulu and others) dont seem to ever sign me out.
