Mi Box cec issue with Samsung tv

by meyerovb

I have my Mi Box plugged in directly to my Samsung tv with a new hdmi cable. Cec option on my tv is enabled. When I am playing a Netflix movie and try to send a rewind signal through the Samsung to the Mi box the Samsung says 'not available' Should this be working right out of the box? Is there some kind of special setup I have to do? I just want my harmony remote to send rewind commands to the Mi box, this is the only way I can think to do it.

CEC sucks on the Mi Box. The Mi Box actually has an IR receiver, so you should be able to use your Harmony remote to control it directly. I have a Harmony 650 and it works decently with the player.

Not sure if anything has changed. But cec stopped working for me and others after the last update... I think they tried to fix it being flaky and inadvertently disabled it for people.

Ok, so I have 2 problems. One is that cec play/pause commands won't route through hdmi1 for me. The other is that I use a driftTV which seems to not only block the play/pause cec commands, but also for some fd up reason when I press home on the mi remote it also switches my tv back to hdmi1! But that only happens when the driftTV is in the chain, otherwise the tv will stick to hdmi2 when I press the mi home, and cec will work fine.

Anyone have a driftTV and a Mi Box? lol
