Does the ps4 controller lag on the Nvidia Shield?

by nvincent

I recently got a ps4 controller to use as a phone gamepad, but to my dismay, quickly learned that it has a known lag issue. The main workaround doesn't seem to be working. :(

I was wondering, does anyone have a shield TV and a ps4 controller? Do they play nice together?

Thanks!

I haven't been able to get them to pay nicely. I have once been able to get the lag down using Bluetooth auto connect, but even then, the button mapping is all kinds of messed up.

I have been using a ps4 controller for gamestream and moonlight. There does not seem to be any noticeable lag from the controller

It works. Not perfectly since there is no way to customize the back light, and there's no rumble. But button mapping is correct and there's no lag. And I'm talking about Bluetooth, not wired.

The link is for streaming game and that's pretty much it. You can add Kodi but even that is not working properly and it's just too much work. The shield is just perfect for everything. You can stream game (much better quality BTW), have a plex server (which works wonderfully for the rest of the dumb "smart tvs" I have), watch 4K HDR on the main tv set, and so much more. Sure it's a hefty difference, since you can get the link for as low as $25. But I feel the shield is worth it.
