For some reason the Mi Box is having intermittent issues with my harmony remote. Maybe mine has a iffy ir reciever built in or something, but a lot of the times I have to repeatedly click or move the remote closer. Is there a USB ir reciever I can attach that would work with the Mi Box and accept traditional play/pause/ff/rewind commands (not just d-pad commands)?
just throwing this out there. did you change the batteries on your remote?
mine does that when batteries are low.
Which harmony are you using? I have the harmony hub and was experiencing the same issues as you. I connected through the remote via Bluetooth a and now it's flawless.
Had the same problem with 650/700 harmony. tilted my mibox up at the front and its way better worth a try since its free
With my Harmony Elite Hub remote there is no problems. I never use the Mi remote. It starts turns off and has all the controls. I installed it as Mi Box 3.
BTW Stainlesssteele how did you connect the harmony remote through bluetooth?
I believe it will work with a FLIRC receiver, or similar variants. They just act like a keyboard, and should support the standard play pause, I think. I haven't tested this myself though, I'm just speculating.
