Completely overwhelmed with options.

Hey guys, I'm currently feeling pretty overwhelmed and unsure as to which androidtv box to buy. I live in canada and my price range would be $200 at the most. If someone could give me some advice i'd be really thankful for that.

Xiaomi Mi Box , a large amount of the android boxes you see online are basically a tablet motherboard in a box. The official android TV devices are the mi box, the nvidia shield, the razor forge and nexus player and are significant more reliable and supported.

the mi box is within the price you specified but the nvidia shield is vastly better if you can afford it.

Overwhelmed? There's two options...

I bought my Nvidia shields 16gb from Canada computers for around 10 bucks cheaper than Amazon were doing it for. Think it was 289 at the time. But it's great, I use the Nvidia gamestream a lot and it's amazing. Obviously it's a bit pricey but if you can stretch and you like gaming or having an Nvidia GPU in your PC it might be worth it. If not, mi box

The NVIDIA SHIELD is considered the best of the AndroidTV boxes. It's powerful, has a built in Amazon Video app, and Ethernet (don't knock it, a lot of cheaper boxes are omitting it now). It's also a powerful gaming box.

That being said, you don't necessarily NEED that power.

Pay for the ShieldTV. It is am amazing device. The Mi box was ok but doesn't compare

The Mi Box is a better value if you just stream (ie use regular apps, Lose/SPMC). If you are into "heavy graphic" (mobile standards) mobile gaming go for the Shield.

If $200 is nothing and you want to cut down a few seconds, than Shield. But then again, if that's nothing than go for the more powerful PS4 or Xbone.

All your options are based on what your usage would be. Mi Box and Nvidia are both partnered with Google and work closely with them. One is made for streaming and secondarily light gaming (Mi Box) and one is for more heavy gaming and secondarily streaming (Shield).
