Remote input not working (Eurosport Player)

Hello /r/AndroidTV,

I am trying to use the Eurosport Player app on my KDL50W808C Bravia Android TV running Lollipop (Marshmallow update has been pulled AFAIK).

I can sideload the app without a problem, and the app starts. However, it does not accept any input from the remote, and I can't select the button to Log In. The same happens with the Android TV remote from my phone, either in D-Pad mode or Touchpad mode.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to pass a "touch" input to the tv?

I'm not even sure the service would work at all since it only speaks of Android tablets and phones, but I'm willing to bet 7€, if only I could sign up!

There is a Eurosport puppet in the REKODI repo for PuppetMaster.TV. Sorry not a direct answer but maybe the alternative meets your requirement?

Did you find a solution? Did you try an external keyboard with touchpad?

The solution is to unpair your TV Bluetooth remote control and use it in IR mode. Navigation is then possible in the app but unfortunately you would then lose access to voice search.

Shame on Eurosport / Discovery for not fixing it in the past 4 years.
