So I'm trying to use the vlc app on my Sony smart TV to view the stuff I have on my laptop. The TV app is connected to my laptop and I can access the media library there. The problem is that my vlc media library is apparently empty. Any idea on how to add the files to the vlc media library so my TV can access them remotely?
Why not try Kodi, just enable network sharing on your pc for the folder which you want to add.. Now add those sources on Kodi by clicking add source and last option "Windows file sharing (smb) then select your desktop and click shared folder and then add them..
