In saying all that, you could provide more information than what you have i.e what the video file format is, is it playing from wifi/lan/usb/sd etc.

First 2 things i would try are

  • Does the video play fine on a laptop or computer?

  • Have you tried installing a different video player, i.e VLC or Kodi and get different results
