LeEco have been saying the AndroidTV certification process through Google takes something like 2-3 months from when the update is ready, pending no problems. If true (and that was LeEco talking, so take it with a huge grain of salt) then this partially explains why updates are so slow across the AndroidTV market.
I remember reading a Sony rep saying all 2015-2017 Android TVs would be updated to 7.0 but it might be a while. My X850C didn't get Marshmallow until Nougat was pretty released to my Nexus 6P so...
They stopped the updates for 6.0 that were under way because some issues, I whould hold my breath for 7
Perhaps a more interesting question is when will assistant be ready? What are you looking forward to in 6 or 7 upgrade?

Considering the last update... sometime between 2018-2020. Basically, you'll prob have a new TV by that time.
