Loud popping sound while streaming YouTube on Mi Box

by the-crooked-compass

As the title describes, I'm getting what can be described as a loud popping or snapping during YouTube playback on my Mi Box. Only happens on YouTube, and just started recently. Popping sounds like someone's disconnecting an audio cable...much louder than the playback audio.

I have the Mi Box hooked to my TV via HDMI, then hooked to my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 via 3.5mm jack into a mixer. I've tried hooking directly into the Klipsch system, and even headphones...still happens.

I've been messing around with settings for a few weeks now, but nothing has helped. I might still be inside my return policy...but I'm scared to exchange this one as this one was an exchange due to a Netflix issue.

Any/all help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Have you tried through your TV speakers? When you tried your headphones, did you do it directly into the Mi Box? That would help determine if it's the 3.5mm jack or the wire.

Does it only pop during the switching of videos or the start of the video, or randomly throughout? Is it a lot of times, or once/twice during a video?

Another thing you could try is to clear the cache of YouTube. Got to Settings, Apps, System Apps, YouTube. Once selected, scroll down to Clear Data and Clear Cache. Test again and see if the popping happens.

I had a similar isssue before, it was a different app's notifications (specifically the NFL app.) I disabled the apps ability to push notification in settings and havent had the issue since
