Why would anyone place credence in the affirmations of a South Asian script readers employed as 'tech support' by Xiaomi?
Its likely they have never seen an actual box, much less been privy to Xiaomi's internal release schedule?
Yay!! But honestly I didn't expect the Vendor to spend developer time & effort to build & release new firmware for this cheap hardware.
I am in the same time zone as China and I think the update is referring to the updated Netflix app on the Mi Box. Mine was just updated to include the new rating system (thumbs up or down).
What does Nougat add? I remember reading about the ability to DVR.
Probably fake. I say next month around the same day it'll probably release.

Luckily nothing as of yet.
I have the NP and Nougat's interface with the right-hand side menu is a big disappointment. Looks more suitable for a smartphone than an Android TV device. Will try to disable the auto update.
Ask around see how many people who have $750+ android phones have nougat most phones that have it got it in the last 60 days (samsung, motorola, ect.) The mibox is $70 think about it.
I don't expect the nougat update, because open beta testers also got nougat recently and it takes around 1-2 months to be stable
