There seems to be an issue with watching Youtube videos on my mibox3(US ver.)

I bought my mibox3 at Walmart not that long ago on December. For some reason, Youtube doesn't seem to work the way it should be.

Here are some of the issues that I am currently facing, when I want to watch a Youtube video on my mibox3

  • The Youtube app would usually be stuck in the loading screen, when i try to watch any video. This occurs randomly. When the video actually loads, it only happens once or twice. The moment i stop watching a video, and switch to a different video, it doesn't load; the screen just keeps on showing me the loading animation.

  • When I want to cast a Youtube video to my mibox, the video just keeps on loading. This issue also occurs randomly. When the video actually loads, it only happens once or twice.   • Launching the Youtube app on my mibox most of the time would just give me a blank red screen, search button , and the Youtube logo. The menu on the left side of screen isn't available for me to access. I have provided a video of this issue.

Netflix, Mubi, Twitch are working the way they should. In spite of the issue some users face with Netflix, I didn't seem to notice any framerate issue. The only problem that I have right now with my mibox3 is Youtube.

I have tried restarting the mibox, enabling/disabling the Youtube app, clearing the cache, and resetting my mibox3 to factory setting. None of them worked.

Does anyone have a solution regarding the issues stated above?

I had this problem on YouTube and play store, the solution is cleaning data on cache in storage section (select internal storage) in settings menu.

I'm not too sure. Does YouTube work flawlessIy on your phone when you're not casting it? How about YouTube on other devices?

It could be something weird on your router if the problem affects other devices. Did you try to block ads and such straight from your router?

Yeah, I'm facing this from 2-3 days only.. YouTube app struck on loading screen it don't go away until I force stop YouTube app..

Very rarely when I cast YouTube video, the video doesn't start playing and keeps on loading. After Google cast update in March month I haven't faced this problem in casting YouTube videos..

I am having virtually all of the same issues as you with youtube. I bought a MiBox the day the released and am on my second one (first crapped out within 2 weeks). Both have these exact issues. The Youtube going to a red screen can be resolved by force closing the App or restarting the Mibox. The same thing happens sometimes with Kodi. I can watch something, open another app and go back to Kodi and it stays on a black screen until I force close.

Hopefully 7.0 fixes these issues.

I occasionally have similar issues including slow voice response. For me, I generally clear cache and YouTube storage and then (this was key) unplug the power and cold boot. A software reboot will not fix it. Even factory reset originally did nothing. But that was my case.

I have exactly the same problem. Does someone know when we will get update for Android 7?
