I have a Vizio (I don't remember the model number; it's a 43" smart TV purchased in 2015) and don't have this issue. My sound goes through some crappy desktop speakers wired to the audio out, though.
I had the same problem shield>soundbar>TV setup and even if I changed it to shield>TV>soundbar it happened I initially thought it was the 7.0 update which might have a bug as it happened around the same time but then I suspected it was the hdmi cable and once I replaced it don't have that problem anymore
I have this happen too.. Shield > Samsung KS8000 > Soundbar(optical)
2015 Shield to Vizio P65-C1 (HDMI) to Yamaha Receiver. Issue only occurs in plex when pausing. But continues until video is resumed or I go into another app and start a new audio stream.
Are u talking about the loud random static sound in Netflix and Google Play Movies when paused?
It happens to me on my 2015 Shield that is connected to my 4K Sony Bravia. Typically when I Fast Forward/Rewind or at random if content is paused.
I've been researching this too. ShieldTV/VizioP/Bose Cinemate 2 (toslink connect). Happens mostly with Netflix. Some people have suggested it only happens on surround sound streams. Can't confirm yet. For me, it doesn't always happen when I pause, but it does it randomly (but often). Annoying as hell.
Hey did anyone figure out a fix for this? I also have this loud buzz/noise when pausing or fast-forwarding video - sometimes, not all the time. I have Nvidia Shield and this happens on Live Channels (DVR recordings) and Plex. It may happen on other apps, I just have not used any other ones yet. Usually I'll hit play, then pause again to clear it up, or if fast-forwarding, hit play and fast-forward again. I have HDMI output directly into Vizio P-series TV and optical output from tv to soundbar. None of my other devices do this. I've switched HDMI cable and switched HDMI input on the TV, does not make a difference.
Sony Bravia, 2017 shield, optical, same issue as that thread. Driving me insane.
Shield --> P-65 Vizio --> Vizio Surround Sound Bar. All HDMI. Happens on Netflix, and HBO GO apps, but never happens on the YouTube app. Anyone have any luck in figuring this ouT? Sometimes we forget when the volume is very loud and the beep is deafening.
