What's wrong with the Google Android TV app? Works fine for me and keeps a remote in the notification bar if you want.

I'm gonna piggy back off the back of this question.. what's the best physical remote to replace the one that came with the discontinued Nexus Player? My toddler dropped ours one too many times and I'm sick of explaining how the remote app works to guests.

I use the Azulle Lynk on my Shield Pro & was on the Mi Box prior after replacing my Rii i8+ & i28, not sure how it would fair on a TV, tho..? Works great everywhere else, so it's likely that would be the case here as well.

I came here to post this question as well. I am particularly looking for one with a keyboard/trackpad but retain functionality to turn the TV on/off (which is preventing me from buying a rii i8+).

I've tried quite a few of the eBay ones, there's a few that aren't bad, but they confuse the SHIELD when I try to use a controller. What I really need is one with just enough IR learning capability to program a TV power button, a mute button, and a TV input switcher. Maybe volume control for the TV, that's all CEC anyway though. So far no luck.

Oh and I do NOT want air-mouse capability. And I don't care much about voice.

I bought a Logitech keyboard (k and have stopped using my remote for the tv altogether. Easy to type on, has a back-lit keypad, track pad and the buttons allow for easy navigation of the interface and is great for using loaded browsers such as Firefox or Chrome. (Note: I have a 2016 Sony Bravia 65x850d)
