If anybody here knows the valid answer why mibox removed shutdown option after certain update in the past? Now we are stock in reboot option, I'm afraid just unplugging the power will kill my mibox someday as issues with android devices (phones, etc). Or any devices.

They removed it in the last update. Apparently it's getting fixed on the Nougat version (now in beta) but there's no confirm on that yet.
Just FYI, but the Nexus Player doesn't have a shutdown option either.
Hit it hard with a Hammer till its stops emitting that whiny "Miiiiiii" sound. That will shut it down permanently. ;-)

Most devices are meant to be always on now. Phones, tablets, game systems, computers, etc only go into sleep and meant to be rebooted every once and a while.
Simply, the Mi Box doesn't need to be shut down. I like the option to shut down devices (and most keep those options), but it isn't necessary anymore.
