Block OS updates from Xiaomi? [Mi Box]

I'd like to block the upcoming Nougat update. I simply don't like the Nougat interface on Android TV. A small right-hand side menu which utilizes ca 15% of the screen (on NP, that is). Makes navigating a pain for the eyes.

I've been trying the "pm disable/hide..." command but it was only partly successful. Not sure it will work when put to the test.

Any other suggestions?

I figure you could disable OTA via your router much in the same way you do in the case of Nvidia Shield when you block ota-downloads.nvidia.com. Only I don't know which site to block. Is it www.mi.com ?

Sometimes I wonder if the people who post here are retarded. The menu is only up when you go to settings and shit. 99% of the time you would never access it.

If you really don't want nougat the domain to block is: android.googleapis.com

if you're using SPMC as the launcher why don't you just access the android apps through SMPC? The side bar is really just meant for settings, I find it counterproductive to actually use it as your app navigation.

I wonder if instead of blocking the update, you could just revert the Launcher to the old version.
