Sorry if this has already been asked before and is a dumb question, but is there a currently working (as of this week) method of installing the Amazon Instant video app on a Mi Box?
Before you jump on me to DAFS: I've been searching the web and reddit and unless I'm missing something all the methods I found that worked for people in Oct - Dec of last year simply link to the xda forum post that's been removed at amazon's request. i.e. Dead End now. Is there a apkmirror of the Prime Video Launcher apk or other method that works in 2017? I'd rather use an actual Android app made for a remote vs the chrome browser to watch, as some have suggested elsewhere.
Has anyone had any success finding any of the old APKs for the Prime Video Launcher still floating around? I tried the #sideloadtag AMZNIVID, AMZNVID, and PRMVIDLNCH and it downloads but then says 'Parse error'. I'm running version 6.0.1 of the Mi Box fresh unboxed this afternoon.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated to point me and anyone late to the Mi Box party in the right direction :)
I'm happy to sideload or use ADB or get my hands dirty with a USB debug method if necessary, but just need an actual APK to push...
nevermind, just saw the post from 2 days ago https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/64x08t/is_amazon_prime_video_app_available_in_mibox/
looks like we're all SOL for the time being, unless someone stashed away or has a way to extract the old amazon video launcher apk ?
