Is there a way to stream games with the Nexus Player

by TheJuiceIsLoose1994

I'm talking about from the PC to the Player, akin to how the Shield does it. Could I somehow port an app to it to do this, or is this an impossibility?

Look into the Moonlight app. I'd suggest you get a usb to etherent adapter though

I use Moonlight a lot at home, even running 1080p res.

Basically, nVidia built a proprietary network streaming protocol ("GameStream") and made it available only to their special Android products (Shield, Shield TV, etc) while the community almost immediately reverse engineered it and then started writing new clients for it.

If you have nVidia Experience on your desktop, then you can play your PC games on your nVidia Shield (whether with Key/Mouse or with an xinput controller, or otherwise) by way of the Moonlight app, which is currently still available via the Google Play store.

If you don't have a desktop with an nV 600-series GPU or stronger, I would recommend looking at a company called LiquidSky.TV. They're still getting their S*** together and they're still trying to relaunch their Android app, but they basically spin up PC virtual machines with GPU cores strapped to them. It does have metered costs, with monthly subscriptions available, and when it works it's worth it ... but that's a good place for you to start.
