Anybody have recent netflix issues?

by whiteeagle00

I am using a Nexus Player and no matter what show I select on netflix, I get the following message

"We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title"

I've force closed, uninstalled, reinstalled, installed an older build of the app and I still get the error. I am running 7.1.2.

For the past 2 days I've been getting the error "Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try to restart the Netflix application (-111)."

I tried to go to Settings > Apps > Running Apps and try to force quit Netflix, but when I try to load it again, same error. Started yesterday.

I had the same issue with loading Netflix (-111) last night and today. I went to settings>about and check for a system update. It will reboot and install the update. Good luck!

Just found this error on Netflix website

"We are currently experiencing issues streaming on Android devices; however, other devices may still work. We are working to resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Yep, having issues here too, can't cast at all, or use my built in Android TV app

Are you guys with any sort of Netflix issues using a Smart DNS service ?

The very recent update of the Netflix App has additional security measure in it that checks Google's DNS servers now as well.

Blocking these Google Servers will cause Netflix issues on all Android TV capable devices from this point onwards.

Had the same last night, but a reboot worked for me.

Had same issue. But not on all titles. Was weird. Worked after a reboot.

Had the same problem on both of my miboxes starting yesterday. I ran the mibox update, when that didn't fix it I then re-installed netflix app and its good on both now.

-111 error here. Went to settings, force stop, clear data, open app, sign in, it works.

yessssss.

i find i can always get it to play by slow roll, but clicking into videos works approximately once.

slow roll: y'know when it starts autoplaying the video behind the episode 'options'. that pretty much works everytime. the trick is to get back to the slow roll once it glitches out on you.

my method - try once or twice to play, then go back the episode screen, back out once, hover over a different show/movie, goto home screen, then back to netflix, then reselect your show/movie - don't push play and the slow roll should start. play/restart options disappear on it's own after a few seconds. whole thing takes maybe 5-10 seconds, way easier than clearing app data and signing back in.

I was having this problem and got it working by sideloading Netflix (Android TV) 3.3.2 build 1530 and turned off autoupdates for apps in the play store
