Can't open Live Channels app

I'm trying to set up my nexus player to use OTA with a Hauppauge Xbox One tuner but I'm having some trouble. When I go into Play Store and click on the app there is no option to open the app, and the only options are to uninstall updates, full description, or flag as inappropriate. I'm not sure why this is happening. I've checked and there are no updates needed since I just bought it and updated everything to 7.1.1. I tried to uninstall the update for Live Channels and restarted the device but no luck.

Forgive my ignorance, as I am used to my Fire TV, so I'm still learning to navigate the nexus. Any help would be appreciated.

live channels shows up when you have a source app, install something like bloomberg, cumulustv or hdhomerun and it will then show up in the rows with all the other apps

You can also access live channels without installing any other apps with the "Remote Android TV" app on your phone, a replacement for the Android TV Remote app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.bouyguestelecom.remote&hl=en

It's a bit strange that you can't access it normally, as Play Movies already provides a channel.
