At the heart of the system is the MediaTek MT5832 SoC running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

This is the proper review from the same author without the Forbes garbage. My favorite line: "With the Sony ZD9, the user experience got even better as the TV supports Android 6.0.1 with the Android security patch from September 2016."

This thing needs Nougat badly.

ShortFuse

No Nougat, meaning no DVR and multiwindow.

Any word on if the CPU is actually good?

My Sony AndroidTV is ridiculously slow and I regret not getting a dumber TV and slapping a Nexus Player over HDMI.

The best? I bet they haven't even been sharing room with all the available ATV enabled TV's...

$3,200? Lol nah.

The original article that Forbes used is garbage and wouldn't be surprised if it was sponsored.

First off this TV came out in the US last summer so keep in mind there is nothing "new" here that wasn't in that model.

Second the article is completely wrong about the 2.5 GB of RAM. And lastly, the article praises the 4 cortex A53 cores when in reality that is why this TV operates like shit like every other Android TV.

Garbage article.

$3200? Ok, I'll just take my $1000 Vizio and attach a $200 SHIELD to it and I've got a better setup. Thanks, but no thanks.
