Meanwhile DishAnywhere has been out for years and works great. Dish is far ahead of DirecTV in the tech game. Partnering with Sling really gave them the advantage.
been waiting for what seems like ages for this. Many have come to the same conclusion as myself that DTVN struck a deal to make it exclusive for Apple and Amazon TV connected devices, FireTV is android and the fireTV app meets the requirements for AndroidTVs leanback mode...and older app versions work when the amazon security checks are removed (with the exception of on demand stuff)... so whats the hold up and why are they blocking it now in newer versions? Tin foil hat time
FYI: there is modified Fire TV stick app that works on Android TV I have been using it for like month and a half. Works pretty good.
I'm using the FireTV client currently and it works pretty much 100%.
I asked them on Twitter two weeks ago and they gave me the vaguest reply. I guess that's good, but I still consider Sling superior.
Too bad they don't have Discovery Channel =/. If Sling had Discovery Channel and TLC, I'd sign up in a heartbeat.
And here I am with TWC/spectrum, I would have loved to switch but my area only offers to choices and Verizon hasn't really joined the party either
They told me that it would be available while the $35 Go Big promo was still going on, so I won't believe it until I see it.
