ShieldTV Video Output Issue

I'm experiencing video output issues on my 2017 ShieldTV. Please see here for example.

This issue occurs every couple of weeks. When this happens, sound is lost as well. Upon intially experiencing this, a restart of the device fixed the problem. However, I've just unplugged the HDMI cable the last couple occurrences, with similar results to the restart.

My question, is this more likely an issue with the HDMI cable (it's an Amazon Basic, bought at the same time as the Shield), or an issue with the HDMI port on the Shield?

Previously, I've used a FireTV without issue, so I don't think it's a problem with the TV.

I would get a good quality cable first off. I would be willing to bet that is your issue. Does the shield connect directly to your tv or does it go through a receiver first?
