Sorry ... I dunno if this is the right place to ask but my family finally got an Android box (model T95x) and I hooked it up to our wifi and are able to stream great content (have the latest updates on it ) but two things are bugging me and I'm having a hard time googling the answer.

every few minutes it seems like the screen dims and gets darker (we have an LG tv we brought last year) especually during already dark scenes. I'm trying to play with the brightness settings on the box and tv and can't seem to get this effect to go away.

when looking at the live channel selection ... regardless of whatever channel we choose on sky box (I think that's the name) we get an ad for assorted downloadable games that we don't want and can't seem to exit out of or select an ignore option (I have to back out manually with the remote).
We love the freedom the device gives up but not too happy with these hiccups so far.
One last thing, any opinions on good remote controls to pair up with the box? The stock one that came with this box is quite cumbersome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry about that. I couldn't help myself. Anyways, there is actually a difference between Android boxes, and official Android TV. Official Android TV boxes include the Nexus player, Mii box, and the Nvidia shield. They offer a much better interface for interacting with Android on a TV. We recommend getting one of those instead.
In reality, it does sound like the box is going into some kind of power save mode after not being interested with for a set amount of time. Maybe a different app could help, but if it is the box... Well, there might not be anything you can do about it.
