Not sure about the UI on the MiBox but that should be more of an Android TV thing as opposed to a Xiaomi thing. Also they do not make the Chromecast Ultra, so why would you ask them for one?
My MiBox works perfectly fine, so you probably just got a bad unit. It happens. What matters is how a company responds to problems, but when you start the remediation process by screaming like a child, all you're doing is giving someone in Customer Support a bad day. Why?
####Sounds like you forgot to put it on wifi.
####Ask your mom for the password.
May I suggest a side of aged Vermont Cheddar. It will perfectly complement your WHINE!!!
Otoh, some of us are good at helping resolve user related issues for that device.
Take a chill pill and clearly, calmly state your issues.
If you have a receipt, then you didn't buy it from them, so they can't issue a refund or replacement. And you're still within the period over which you CAN return it?? Lucky you!
In what world would they provide a Chromecast anything ??
Maybe if you ask a question, they can help. Have you left out the part where you asked them for help fixing your issues already and their answer was to do a reset, et al.?
However, and I know I'm going to get hammered vote-wise, but how is he screaming like a child? I understand his upset, it's just not productive.
I waited too long to try out Showtime and HBO. I mainly used it for YouTube, Netflix (Which I never had before! Yay!), and playing media, which is weird because it's these exact things that he can't get to work. When I started using HBO and ST, they worked great! But shortly thereafter, the exoplayer DRM errors arose and nothing played. It took a while to figure out, but I had no choice but to factory reset.
Now I'm finding green artifact screens in place of movies on Showtime. Can't find a single solution. It sucks! And HBO and Showtime won't help for crap (I tried) because the Mi Box isn't on their officially supported list of 3-4 devices. Except isn't it the fault of the apps and not the box since other apps work? Or do I have that backwards?
I certainly wouldn't yell at them though, despite my frustration, because I need a solution. Really wish there was one. Or at least a more prevalent list of people having the same issues that would force a solution.
I'm bummed reading about how everyone is having no issues.
My Mi Box works flawlessly using Google Play Music, Netflix, and Youtube.
Sorry that you're having issues, but it's not on Xiaomi, seems like something else is causing the problem.
The UI is AndroidTV, made by Google. If it's a "reliability" issue in your streaming apps than it's probably your internet.
The company won't buy you another product. I don't know why the hell you thought they would. Get support. Not tech support but mental support. Your horribly arrogant, childish personality means that you should just return the box. I'm sorry to whoever is working that has to deal with you.
Send it to me. I love the two that I have. Perfect use for bedrooms or sitting rooms. I have Nvidia Shields for the Living Room and Home theater.
Just sent the following email to Xiaomi US service
Lol
Get piccolo you social degenerate nerd
Sound like the OP wanted 100% Chromecasting capabilites from Android TV device like you would actually get from an actual Chromecast.
Well it's not happening, you only need to look at the reviews of the Googlecasting Receiver App included with Android TV devices to see there are various issues: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.mediashell&hl=en
Simply if you want bulletproof Chromecasting buy an actual Chromecast device.
mods remove this troll post, adds nothing to the sub or discussion
So just return it for a refund and buy a CC Ultra. Xiaomi is not obligated to do any of that for you. You're an adult, right?
