They missed their second release window....that's what's happening. And, as reported by many, the Android Nougat beta for the device not only isn't fixing problems, its introducing more.

I will never buy another Xiaomi product. I've had 3 different products from them and 2 of them, even though the hardware had promise, have been ruined by very poor software development!

I'm going to post in anticipation of any knowledge on this as well. Sorry I can't contribute.

I'm hoping that an upgrade to the system will fix the green artifacts I'm getting in movies, making them unplayable. I don't know what else will!

The beta leaked and can be flashed by anyone, downside is you can't go back to Marshmallow after flashing. Overall I find the beta disappointing, only really noticed the new features 7.0 comes with and not really any fixes. YouTube still stutters at 60fps, some Plex direct play videos don't load now. No news other than that.

I don't mind waiting, its just the lack of communication. A short twitter update by Xiaomi would be fine. Let your customers know what is going on!

I've been running the beta update on both of my Mi Box's for a few weeks. There are some bugs, discussed here , but they haven't affected me.

The OTA is very easy to install. Just put it on a USB Drive and install through recovery (hold center + back buttons during power on),

I installed Nougat beta on my Mi Box, but I don't know if it's the most recent beta. How can I know that? I searched for OTA updates but it says my system is up-to-date. Thanks.

Would be nice of Xiaomi to keep their customers updated on the rollout.
