Sony TV and Google Home connection not working

I have a Sony 75XBR850C (2015 model). I have had NO success getting it to work with Google Home.
When I give it commands to play music or youtube on "TV", it says ok, but nothing is happening. When I give it commands to turn TV On or Off. It says it can't do that yet.

I'm on version 1.23 of the Google Cast on the Sony. I've also followed all the suggestions here as well: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/googlehome/OcgiCHo113k/TzI2zM1IBwAJ

This includes 1)removing update, reapplying update.
2)clearing cache and data 3)removing and relinking the TV

Any other suggestions or help?

I have gotten it to play a YouTube video before, but not Netflix or Google Play music.

Try using the Google Home app on your phone/tablet and making sure your TV is given a name. In my case I said "Play my recommended videos on Sony TV" and it did what the video suggested.
