Google/Android Assistant on nVidia Shield TV?

by wolfgame

I picked up a new Shield TV shortly after CES and just found the Google Assistant on my phone (I used OK Google regularly, and it just worked, so I didn't really dig in to it), and I love the Hue integration. Would love to integrate with my TV experience as well, being able to say something like "OK Google, play My Hero Academia on Crunchyroll" and have it dim the lights and put on some anime.

However, since February 16th, I can't find any updates or announcements, just that it's coming in Early 2017. Has anyone seen any updates on the subject?

Nothing yet.

I'm disappointed because I, too, bought a Shield after CES and I believed them when they said it would be coming in "Early 2017", along with the Nvidia Spot add-on devices. So we wait, and continue to wait...

Might possibly hear something about it at Google I/O coming up, all I know is that the Shield TV was touted as going to be one of the first Android TV devices that'll get Google Assistant, so it's still MIA but scheduled for an early 2017 release, here's hoping we hear something about it soon, I've been anxiously waiting for some kind of announcement crosses fingers we hear something about it at this years Google I/O

Google I/O has come and gone. Still nothing at this point.
