Did Live Channels recently update? I ask because pressing the volume controls on the Mi remote has no effect on the volume in Live Channels. The controls work in other apps.

I'm in the same situation... Nothing changed in my configuration and today I noticed that the volume control in the live channels app wasn't doing anything. Everything works perfectly in all other apps, however, so it seems specific to Live Channels.
Does anyone have any idea?
When Audio is using HDMI Passthrough, the end Audio receiver is controlling volume ie. the AVR or TV.
When Audio is configured for PCM, the media player box controls volume.
Go into Android > Audio settings - Digital sounds and select PCM.
If the channel is coming in 5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS, you won't get volume control via your Mi Box controller. Digital audio can't change volume. It's only when it is converted to analog that it can change volume which is why your receiver or TV can do it.
