Yeah we saw this thread last week. Theres about a half dozen great reasons why Android TV isn't going anywhere but its pretty easy to get hung up on "the latest" doom and gloom reason as to why its going to die soon.

...there's also not a YouTube app for Apple TV, Fire TV, or Roku either. Right now, you can only get it on your TV by casting it (unless your PC is hooked up to your TV). It's also still only available in limited cities at the moment. YouTube TV not being on Android TV is the least of ATV's problems.

Google has said they're working on it for ATV (read that somewhere on this subreddit), and I would bet they announce something about it at I/O this week.

I also find it odd that you posted this minutes after Google added AMC, BBC America, and others to the service.

The app for a service that's in beta in only 6 cities is actually in development for the platform that Google will be holding developer events for tomorrow at I/O.

So maybe pump the brakes there, bud.

I just think each product just has like it's own department with sometimes no communication.

I get why others keep it on the backburner but google not having an app for andriod tv takes it to another level. Couldn't have devloped it in house while devolping youtube tv(both google/android properties) In regards to other apps and devices google owns and/or made none of these so that point is moot.

It seems to me google doesn't think as highly of android tv as the fan boys do. i can see other devlopers/manufacturers ignoring atv not much marketshare not on many devices ect. But google made atv and they treat it the same way besides being bad buisness what message does it send?
